Synopsis[]
After a brief second court hearing, Amaryllis Penndraig is exonerated of the crime of desertion, and with Juniper Smith exonerating himself earlier by slaying Onion Penndraig in a trial of combat, they seem to be on their way to retake the power. As a last resort to prevent this, Hyacinth Penndraig invokes the Name.
Juniper cuts Hyacinth's vocal cords to prevent another attempt at summoning, but the Cannibal arrives after the first call nonetheless, grievously injuring Amaryllis and continuing his rampage. In a flashback, the Cannibal's sole weakness is elaborated upon.
Juniper manages to subdue the Cannibal after using the Ring of Upward Bliss, but that is not the end of it.
