Juniper decompresses.

Synopsis[]

Juniper talks with Amaryllis outside the portal, and decides to decompress before the debrief. He finds that he's lost the game interface, but regains his magic, and the game loyalty bonuses like Symbiosis work again.

Juniper chats with Fenn, and they watch TV.

Juniper chats with Grak, finding out that he's been traveling, is friends with some Dorises and has been shutting down entad exclusion zones.

Juniper chats with Valencia, who has married Jorge and has three children. The eldest is a girl named Juniper.

Juniper chats with Amaryllis. She has stayed true to him, not taking another partner. They talk business

  • after Juniper died, the Council of Arches was dissolved, and the tuung split into loyalists (pro-Amaryllis), nationalists (pro-Republic) and traditionalists.
  • the Void Beast has changed velocity, and it can't be accounted for with known incidents.
  • the Republic of Miunun has joined the Empire of Common Cause.
  • the Doris Finch exclusion zone (DFEZ) has been downgraded to a minor exclusion, and will likely become a free exclusion later. This was triggered by an end to resource scarcity by warding duplication of Doris, but not equipment, and a change in culture due to Blood God Doris (BGD) being charitable and proving to the Dorises they could be not terrible.
  • the locus is healthy and growing. There's a second locus, a white toad with a garden on its back, which is probably Juniper's child.
  • Amaryllis had her adventure in the Outer Reaches. When she came back, three clones didn't want to merge, of which two were lovers. She merged them anyway.
  • Pallida had left but came back when Amaryllis retrieved her hat from the Bryllyg Sea.
  • Raven returned to the Infinite Library temporarily.
  • Grak had many relationships, some serious, but didn't settle down in the end.
  • Bethel was brought back into the party, and enjoys being Valencia's house.
