Pallida Sade is a renacim who's pledged her life to Juniper. An old traveling partner of Uther, later a member of Heshnel's group, she decided to join Juniper's party after saving his life from Okald's murder attempt.
Pallida knelt down, laying her spear across her knee. “Juniper Smith, I pledge my life to you, from now until the moment I die, by the sacred power of my eternal soul.”
“Fine,” I said.
Appearance[]
Pallida's skin is bubblegum pink, a trait of her species. Her lips are of a slightly darker color.[2] She is fairly muscular, though she usually wears a suit of oily-black armor that covers it.[3]
Personality[]
According to Valencia's devils, Pallida is weak-willed. She didn't have a strong tie to Heshnel's group, despite Uther's leaving being painful for her, and she only accompanied them out of a misguided sense of duty to her previous lives. Pallida's relationship with Dahlia left a profound effect on her, which makes Pallida seek Amaryllis' affections.[4]
Biography[]
Juniper initially met Pallida while looking for Valencia after fleeing Speculator Masters.Bubblegum

—Worth the Candle Chapter 136: "Krinrael" - ↑ Valencia’s read on Pallida was that she wasn’t quite so gung ho about things as any of the others. Renacim were essentially unknown to the denizens of hell, given that their souls refused to go there, but from what Valencia could read, Pallida was with this group more out of a sense of duty to her past lives than because she really believed that Uther needed to be stopped at all costs. At least according to Valencia, the pact had likely been made a long, long time ago, and while Pallida still felt bound to it, the connection wasn't that strong. Whatever her specific gripes with Uther and however painful his leaving had been, that wasn’t a strong part of her internal being any longer. Her relationship to Dahlia, on the other hand, had left more of an impact. For that reason, Valencia had suggested that Amaryllis do her best to respond positively to any flirtation.
